Has anyone replaced the brake system (pedal linkage to master cylinder and wheel drums/discs)with the system from a later model vehicle? This is in reference to a 1963 CJ5 that does not have brakes. I was wondering if anyone had retorfitted a brake system or had knowledge of some good options. Thanks for the advice!

I brought home a '63 CJ-5 this past weekend. It hadn't been ran in about 5 yrs and we were able to get it started about an hour after we got it home. I bought about $200 worth of parts from a on-line company on Monday that should be delivered tomorrow. I saw they also sell complete kit's to upgrade your brake system. It's a little early to reccommend this outfit, but they did ship same-day, as they claimed they would. -tp

I just put a new Master-cylinder and new wheel-cylinder on both rear wheels....the Master cost me $79 bucks and the rear wheels cost $29 bucks each....this went on my 1963...Willys
Now I have to figure out why it just lost all power on the engine (Huricane) it will idle ok but when I step down on it she wants to cut-out....DARN..
