New Users & Spam

Unfortunately SPAM on the Internet is an ongoing problem, not just in e-mail, but in other formats, such as forums. Most days we have a number of users sign up for accounts on this site. It is often very difficult to tell if they are a real user or if they are creating an account that they will later post SPAM with. SPAM'ers will often create accounts and come back weeks or months later to post SPAM in hopes that once they have managed to get an account that no one will notice if they SPAM later on. This ends up leaving us with many accounts in the system that likely are created by SPAM'ers, but we didn't remove them, because we don't want to delete the accounts of real users.
To combat this; I've come up with a new policy that I feel will help a lot, while being of minimal impact to real users, so we are going to give it a try. I've added a statement that new users are required to confirm they have read and agreed to on the registration / sign-up form. New users will be required to post a message to the forum within 2 days of creating an account or the account will be deleted. Most of the time it is obvious if the person is real or a spammer once they post a message. Also, in general, when a real person signs up for an account, most of the time but not always; they sign up when they are ready to post or reply to a message.
If your new, please simply write a post, tell us where your from and what kind of jeep(s) you own. I am very happy to have new members and would like our members to experience as little spam as possible, while still being friendly to new users.
I would also like to thanks F Bill for his assistance with catching and removing SPAM accounts; Thank You.
As always if you have any problems or concerns, please feel free to contact me via the e-mail link at the top of the page.
I hope everyone is doing well and having fun with their Jeeps.
Regards;
Jamie

Just starting to look around and see what is out there. I am Matco Tools dealer and am looking to trade a new tool box for a very clean, original Willys, military or civilian. Would also be interested in a pickup. If you hear of anything or have something let me know. I am not in a rush but will move on the right one. Very good information on this site. Lots of reading to do.
Happy New Year,
Scott

You will need to be searching for a service manual of which there are several sources. You can purchase one new from Morris ,our sponsor or look for an original on the auction sites. I have many manuals and will gladly scan certain pages for you,but I do not have the whole books in PDF. By looking in the library you can see what I have. Feel free to ask questions and someone will respond within a few days.
Thanks for joining and good luck restoring your new treasure!

My name is Merek and I am the owner of 3 1953 Willys Jeep Pickups.
I have only aquired them in the last few weeks and have started on the restoration of the worst jeep.
Does anyone have specific information on the 1953 Willys for me, ie workshop manual download site or information as to where I can obtain detaied information on my Jeeps?
Kind regards
Merek
