If you have the type of shock mounts where either upper, lower or both mounting pins (studs) use a washer and cotter pin verses a threaded nut to secure the shock this will apply. Sometimes it is difficult to push the rubber bushing far enough on to the pin to clear the washer of the hole for the cotter pin. I have found that you can cut about 1" in length off of a 3/4" pipe and then notch 2 places, about 1/4" square, across from each other on one end. Using a large 'C' clamp compress the washer on to the rubber bushing to clear the cotter pin hole. Then insert the cotter pin down through the square notches which you have lined up with the hole.
