Hi,Im looking for help or direction on my L134 rebuild. My question is after I installed the #1 piston, rod and rod cap I found that when I rotate the crank the rod cap nut is extremely close ( 1/16 ) to the engine block casting as it passes the oil fill tube side of the block. Im using the same crank, bearings, and tried piston rods with 7/16 and 3/8 bolts with no success. The #4 rod assy has plenty of clearance when passing on the same side of the block. Any advise would be appreciated. thanks jim

Hi Jim,
You just piqued my interest and I just happen to have my 134 engine apart and took a look at the #1 connecting rod cap and it comes very close to the case as you suggested. I guess it's just like in combat in that the bullets only have to miss! Thanks for pointing that out. Good luck, Joe
