I am replacing the seals on my transfer case for a 1946 CJ2A and hit a snag. i cant get the front bearing cap to come off. I read the manual as it says remove the entire assembly but when i try to pull it off i hear a metallic sound stopping me getting the cap off. Any ideas how to get the front bearing cap off?
Thanks JT

Hi Jason; The yoke is held on by the nut as I'm sure you know. Once removed it should pull straight off with a gear puller. Its on a splined shaft so there could be some resistance. I wouldn't worry about scraping. Its probably just metal to metal separating.
