Hi all, I have the opportunity to purchase a 1962 Willys Jeep ute in Australia. It does need some work and comes with a lot of spares (many that need cleaning up). I'm thinking of making it a project to fix it up (I have no prior experience) and plan on selling it down the track (probably) What are your views? Is it worth it?

Pictures and a price would tell us a lot more....By the way it is a Willys , not a willy....
I will suggest however that fixing an old jeep to sell has very seldom been a profitable venture. Especially for the beginner. But it IS a lot of fun!

Yes sorry that would help. The price he is asking is $3000 and there is a 2nd motor and a lot more parts than are in the photo. As I said a lot of the parts would require some cleaning up.

I have driven it. It starts and drives well. 4WD works well, it doesn't blow any smoke and it has done just over 52 000 miles

Wow...that was definitely not what I was expecting.. Most of the bodywork especially the fenders, looks entirely homemade. I would keep looking.

HI , I concur with Bill; While Im not sure of the conversion rate in dollars, $3000 au seems very pricey for a homemade vehicle. In US $$ $3000 would purchase a decent , restorable truck that is original (hence, more valuable)
