any tips on putting a v8 in in a 46 cj2a. what do i need to do for the suspension? and i have a lot of parts available for sale.

I'm not sure but for now there is a adapter on e-bay for a ford v8 to jeep adapter,$100 if interested just search willys parts in motors. I just got my 47 cj2a this week so i can't really help much. good luck with the build Walt

i think i would use a buick v6 fit a lot better and will be better all around just my2$

4.3 liter Chevy is also a nice conversion motor... The V8 setups require lots of chopping and are too strong for the stock suspension, axles, and gearboxes, and if you romp on 'em things break pretty fast. I have a 2.0 Liter Ford OHC that looks like it came in the jeep, and is potentially good for a doubling of stock power and lots more dependable RPMs...

I'd like to see some pictures of that 4.3 in there. I got a 1947 today and need to start right away on a powertrain. The engine has got to come out either way, and that seems like a good trade.
